Current Responsibilities
With a span of 33 years in the office leasing
industry, Mr. Shaw began his career with 8 years of experience with
John Portman’s Peachtree Center. Upon leaving as Leasing Director
in 1975, Mr. Shaw "jumped the fence" so to speak and established
his own company, Shaw & Associates, as one of the first companies
to consult with and represent the interests of the tenant.
He is presently a stockholder in BrainWorks
Ventures, Inc. a new venture capital firm Chaired by Dr. Don Ratajczak.
Mr. Shaw is also involved with the real estate component of BrainWorks
VenturesLabs, the Georgia State University Venture Development Laboratory
for entrepreneurs and startup companies. He is currently focused
on the new economy and the development of technology in the Internet
Vertical of commercial office space leasing. Currently under development

1967-1975, Leasing Manager, Peachtree Center

Responsible for creating and managing a leasing
team for 2 Million square feet of space, renewals, expansions, space
planning, construction and move-ins of existing tenants.
1976-2003, President & CEO, Shaw &
Associates, Inc. – Atlanta
Beginning in 1975, Mr. Shaw established his
own company and was one of the first in the city to represent tenants
on a consulting basis bringing added value to managing the process
of facility change. His experience covers a depth of Atlanta real
estate from representing tenants and landlords in leasing, to consulting
with building sales, subleases, ownership, development and construction.
